Mr. Sam Lee Henderson, age 61, of 6 East Head Ave., Buchanan passed away Monday, June 16, 2008. Mr. Henderson was born in Newton County on November 13, 1946. Mr. Henderson was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany and was a retired police officer. He was preceded in death by his mother Lois Moore Henderson. Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Henderson of Buchanan; father and step-mother, Rev. H.T. and Sara Henderson of Carrollton; four daughters and one son-in-law, Chasity and Jerome Arrington of Franklin, Samantha Henderson of Newnan, April Lewis of Carrollton and Vera Massengill of Arizona; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chad and Holly Henderson of Bremen and Anthony and Dedra Massengill of Augusta; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Alan Posey of Covington and Sue and Dr. Dan Doleys of Birmingham, AL; sister-in-law, Vera Lewis of Dayton, OH; niece, Billie Lewis of Dayton, OH; nine grandchildren; and a number of other nieces, nephews and relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Alan Posey officiating. Following the service the body will be cremated. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12 Noon until 2:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
