Mrs. Ruby Brown Worthy, age 83, of 110 College Circle, Buchanan passed away Monday, May 31, 2010. Mrs. Worthy was born in Haralson County on October 20, 1923. She was the daughter of the late James Horace Brown and the late Lonie Weldon Brown. Mrs. Worthy was retired from Arrow Shirt Company and the Haralson County School System where she worked in the lunchroom. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Newt Worthy; one sister, Sara Weaver; three brothers, V.W. Brown, Curtis Brown and Charles Brown. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Diane and Jimmy Lee of Buchanan, Shelma and Byron Richards of Buchanan and Debra Worthy of Buchanan; one son and daughter-in-law. Donnie and Penny Worthy of Carrollton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna and Roy Lee Worthy of Buchanan and Frances and Howard Locklear of Buchanan; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Jimmy and Betty Brown of Carrollton and Travis Brown of Buchanan; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Van Brown and Rev. Danny Smith officiating. Music will be rendered by Wanda Westmoreland and Rev. Buddy Gentry. Interment will follow in the Buchanan City Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Brad Richards, Chad Worthy, Ryan Worthy, Cody Maria, Luke Richards and Stan Clark. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
