Mrs. Ruby McDowell Perry, age 85, of 5065 Hwy. 120, Buchanan passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009. Mrs. Perry was born in Haralson County on June 24, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Neal McDowell and the late Ida Sanders McDowell. Mrs. Perry was a retired merchant. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Leroy Perry and one brother, James McDowell. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Steve Weber of Walla Walla, WA, Donna and Creig Holcombe of Buchanan and Terri Lee and Mark Blumen of Lawrenceville; seven grandchildren, Lee Ann Smith, Jennifer Shope, Randall Holcombe, Eli Holcombe, David Elliott, Stephen Elliott and Hannah Blumen; two great grandchildren, Nate Smith and Cooper Smith; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joey Meeks officiating. Music will be rendered by Sharon Sewell. Interment will follow in the Buchanan Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Richard Brannon, Danny McDowell, Phillip Morton, Joe Ewing, Larry Allen, Adam Treadwell, Tony Pope and Rip Abney. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 and Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
