Mrs. Ruby Jean Brooks Dentmon, age 77, of Buchanan passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010. Mrs. Dentmon was born in Cleburne County, Alabama on August 6, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Hanson Brooks and the late Essie Leola Owen Brooks. Mrs. Dentmon was retired from Arrow Shirt Company in Buchanan and was a long time member of Buchanan New Vision Church of God. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Dentmon; two sisters, Lovella Taylor and Leola Strickland; two brothers, Hoyt Brooks and Lloyd Brooks. Survivors include one daughter, Lynn Dentmon of Buchanan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Brenda Dentmon of Rome and Donald and Rita Dentmon of Tallapoosa; three grandchildren, Kelly Dentmon Maddox of Rome, Karrie Dentmon Kieser of Rome and Brandy Dentmon Turner of Temple; one great grandchild, Anna Maddox of Rome; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. from Buchanan New Vision Church of God with Rev. David Duke and Rev. Jason Spray officiating. Music will be rendered by Byron Duke. Interment will follow in the Buchanan New Vision Church of God Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Byron Duke, Andy Lambert, Donald Morgan, Zach Kieser, Eugene Wade and Chris Bowling. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
