Mr. Roy Charles Verner, age 81, of Buchanan passed away Monday, October 25, 2010. Mr. Verner was born in Haralson County on September 20, 1929. He was the son of the late James Myron Verner and the late Ruby Gladys Reid Verner. Mr. Verner was a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired self employed concrete finisher. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, James Luther Verner and Charles Wilson Verner; one sister, Lou Ann Verner; and one brother, Phil Verner. Survivors include his wife, Mary (Bonnie) Verner of Buchanan; two daughters, Bonnie Anne Verner of Seattle, WA and Lisa Verner of New Orleans, LA; one sister, Sandra Holcomb of McDonough; one brother, George Reid Verner of Kennesaw; one grandson, Charles John DeMocker of New Orleans, LA; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. George Bennett and Michael DeMocker officiating. Music will be rendered by Saralynn Bennett. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Buchanan Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
