Roy Jackson Newberry, age 78 of Waco, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2024.  Born in Covington, Georgia, he was the son of the late Marvin George Newberry and the late Louise Bagley Newberry.  In addition to his parents, Roy is preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Newberry; his son, Roy Newberry, Jr.; his sister, Elaine Pruitt, Diane Bradford, Janie Holmes, and Judy Glow; and his brothers, George Newberry, Jr. and Gary Newberry.

Roy enjoyed life, especially fishing and spending time with his dog, Princess.  He was a retired electrician and was skilled at fixing things. Roy was always up for an adventure and enjoyed going to casinos whenever possible.

Survivors include a sister, Debra Byous of Mansfield, Georgia, and his caretakers, Susan and Tim Bright of Waco..

In keeping with Roy's wishes, he will be cremated.  The family is planning a memorial service for a later date.

Cremation services have been entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.
