Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating the life of Ronald “Ronnie” Joe Page, who passed away on May 14, 2026, at the age of 77.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Decatur Highway Church of Christ in Gardendale, Alabama.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph H. Page, former owner of J & J Drugs in Gardendale, and Betty Hewitt Page of Gardendale.
He is survived by his sons, Kyle Page and Brett Page, both of Alabaster, Alabama; his sisters, Brenda (W.L.) Rainey of Bremen, Georgia, and Cindy (Ricky) Spake of Bremen, Georgia; and his brother, Rodney (Amy) Page of Gainesville, Georgia. He also leaves behind four nephews and six nieces and their families.
Ronald graduated from Mortimer Jordan High School in 1967, where his classmates affectionately nicknamed him “Square.” During his younger years, he enjoyed playing football and spending time fishing. After becoming a father, he devoted countless hours to coaching youth baseball teams in the Gardendale area.
A proud Auburn Tiger, Ronald attended Auburn University, where he earned a BS and later a Master of Education at UAB in Bham. Auburn held a special place in his heart from an early age, as he lived there as a young boy while his father completed pharmacy school. His love for Auburn remained a lifelong passion. Following retirement, he returned to Auburn and worked in several positions around the Plains, while enthusiastically supporting Auburn athletics and cheering on the Tigers in every sport. His family and friends knew him as one of Auburn’s most faithful and passionate fans.
Ronald dedicated his professional life to education and the development of young people throughout Jefferson County. During his distinguished career, he served as a teacher and coach at Hewitt-Trussville Middle School, coached football and wrestling at Hewitt-Trussville High School and Vestavia Hills High School, served as Assistant Principal at Corner High School, and concluded his career as Principal of Pinson Valley High School. He was respected for his leadership, integrity, and commitment to helping students achieve their fullest potential.
In his free time, Ronald enjoyed traveling with family and friends and visiting many destinations across the country. Among his favorite places was Disney World, where he created lasting memories with those he loved. He also enjoyed collecting figurines and often delighted in finding special pieces for family and friends.
Ronald will be remembered for his dedication to education, his love for family, his unwavering Auburn spirit, and the countless lives he influenced as a teacher, coach, mentor, and principal. His legacy lives on through the many students, colleagues, friends, and family members whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
