Roland Ray Holcombe, age 73 of Muscadine, Alabama, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, in a local hospital. Born on December 21, 1950, in Fruithurst, Alabama, he was the son of Arlin Holcombe and Frances Jeanette Owen Daniel. Roland is preceded in death by his father, Arlin Holcombe, his mother and daddy, Jeanette and Billy Daniel, and two brothers, Jackie Holcombe and Glenn Holcombe and great grandson Easton Baye Camp.
A country boy at heart, Roland enjoyed being outdoors fishing and hunting. In his younger years, he spent many hours racing, either on the dirt track or drag racing wherever there was a straight away. For several years he worked in construction and was very skilled at fixing things. Roland was a devoted family man and church member at Living Word Family Church.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 23 years, Jan Holcombe of Muscadine; his sons, Chad (Tanya) Holcombe of Fruithurst, Kevin (Ashley) Holcombe of Buchanan, and step-son Michael (Lisa) Harris of Micaville, AL; and step-daughters, Shay (Joe Duvall) Hayes of Muscadine, and Stacey Coggins of Muscadine. Also surviving are his sisters, Becky (Vernon) Abbott of Tallapoosa, and Kay Price of Fruithurst; brothers, Darrell (Janet) Daniel of Fruithurst, and Rockie (Dorothy) Daniel of Heflin, his precious grandchildren: Marlie Camp, Macie Holcombe, Jackson Holcombe, Jordan Holcombe, Samantha Biggers, Bryant Craft, Saban Craft, Gracie Wood, Jacob Harris, Skylar Watts, Benji Burney, Logan Burney, Katie Burney, and Billy Burney; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of extended family and friends.
The family will host a Celebration of Life for Roland Holcombe on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 1:00 PM (Alabama time), at Living Word with Rev. Ronnie Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Roland Holcombe to Living Word Family Church, 25930 County Road 49, Fruithurst, AL or online at giving.servantkeeper.com/livingwordfruithurst
In keeping with his wishes, Roland will be cremated.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.
