Robert Tinsley Weaver, a dedicated attorney known for his nearly five-decade career specializing in real estate law, passed away in an Atlanta hospital on May 24, 2026. Born on December 1, 1944, in Buchanan, Georgia, he was the son of the late Roy Weaver and the late Elsie Tinsley Weaver. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Jane Brown Weaver; his sister, Jackie Weaver Rowell; his niece, Jill Steele; and his nephew, Sam Rowell.

A proud graduate of Buchanan High School in 1963, Robert's early years were distinguished not only by academic pursuits but also by his active participation in high school athletics and extracurricular activities. He was a valued member of the football and track teams, contributed to the annual staff, and earned the endearing recognition of his classmates as the “Neatest.” His passion for learning led him to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from West Georgia College before obtaining his law degree from John Marshall Law School. Demonstrating perseverance and excellence, Robert successfully passed the Georgia Bar in 1977, thereafter embarking on a legal career that spanned almost fifty years, championing matters of real estate law with distinction. In addition to his professional achievements, Robert served proudly in the United States Army, exemplifying his dedication to service and country. His interests extended beyond the courtroom; he was a skilled woodworking craftsman, a pursuit that reflected his precision and creativity. Throughout his life, Robert's proudest accomplishment was the steadfast support and devotion he provided to his family.  His wife, BJ, was always beside him supporting him in his career, and his sons, Bobby and William were his pride and joy. Robert Tinsley Weaver's legacy is immortalized not only through his professional achievements but also in the enduring love and devotion he shared with his family and friends. His contributions to the law, his community, and those closest to him will be remembered with great respect and admiration.

He is survived by his sons and their wives, Bobby and Ruth Weaver of Smyrna and William and Jill Weaver of Coronado, CA. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Liam, Brock, Camden, and Juliette Weaver. He also leaves behind his brother, Terry and his wife Maudie Weaver, as well as nieces Suzette Ward, Robin Woods, and Wendy Weaver, and nephew Randy Rowell. Long-term employees and friends Iris and Rhonda also remember him fondly for his leadership and kindness.
