Mr. Robert Weatherly "Bobby" Reid, Jr., age 57, of 6700 Roswell Rd., Atlanta passed away Friday, June 18, 2010. Mr. born in Haralson County on January 23, 1953 and was raised in Buchanan. He was the son of Mr. Robert "Bob" Reid, Sr. and the late Edith McGinnis Reid. Mr. Reid was a Human Resources Recruiting Consultant and was employed by the State of Georgia Merit System. He graduated from West Georgia College in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and then obtained a Master''s Degree in Political Science and a Master''s Degree in Arts and Sciences both from the University of Georgia. Mr. Reid was an avid fan of all University of Georgia sports. Survivors include his father, Robert W. "Bob" Reid, Sr. of Buchanan; one sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Larry Hutcheson of Temple; one brother, Johnny W. Reid of Buchanan; two nieces, Kimberly and Bryan Scoggins of Rome and Pamela Hutcheson of Cartersville; one great nephew, Matthew Scoggins of Rome; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 21, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. from Buchanan United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Rooks and Danny Hutcheson officiating. Eulogies will be by Ann Phillips and Reggie Smith. Music will be under the direction of Kersha Cartwright and Dora Gable. Interment will follow in the Buchanan Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Bryan Scoggins, Matthew Scoggins, Walt Casteel, David Edwards, Gerald Willis and Scott Sims. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bobby''s co-workers from the State Merit System. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
