Robert "Bob" L. Poindexter, Sr. passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at his home at the age of 97 with his family members by his side. Born on December 28, 1926, in Lynchburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late John Taylor and Frances Peters Poindexter and the step-son of the late Sue P. Huff.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings, John Taylor Poindexter, Albert Lovelace Poindexter, and Betty Lee Thompson.

Bob was a Navy veteran who served on the USS Los Angeles during WWII and the USS Cone during the Korean Conflict.  He then went to work and retired from General Electric. Bob loved his family and friends.  His main hobbies were woodworking, fishing, and watching Westerns.

In addition to his wife Annie Bell, Bob is survived by his children and their spouses: Cindy and Thomas Ore, Lewis Poindexter and Jennifer, and Bill Poindexter and Jon Ogle, He was also blessed with six grandchildren and their spouses, Tommy Ore, Michael and Jennifer Ore, and Lacey Ore (Cindy and Tommy Ore), Torry Smith and wife Stefani, Joshua Poindexter and wife Asami, and Scott Poindexter and wife Tamara (Lewis Poindexter) and 12 great grandchildren.

Cremation services are being provided by Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.
