Mr. Robert Howard Carroll, age 83, of 2932 Business 27, Buchanan passed away Friday, December 25, 2009. Mr. Carroll was born in Polk County on May 7, 1926. He was the son of the late Lee Willard Carroll and the late Ethel Inez Worthy Carroll. Mr. Carroll was a veteran of the United States Navy and was the retired owner of Carroll''s Auto Parts and Carroll''s Wrecker Service in Buchanan. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five grandchildren, Kim Blanck, Shannon LaBonte, Amy Stapler, Lonnie Stapler and Kristy Stapler; one great grandchild, Ethan Blanck; two sisters, Sara Carroll and Shirley McClung; three brothers, Hugh Carroll, Harold Carroll and Bobby Carroll. Survivors include his wife, Betty Spearman Carroll of Buchanan; four daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Hal Cash of Waco, Sara and Troy Stapler of Buchanan, Shelby and Earnest House of Temple and Linda and Bruce Manning of Gilbert, Arizona; two sons, Wendell Carroll of Buchanan and Danny Carroll of Buchanan; three step-daughters, Barbara Carroll of Buchanan, Carroll Terrell of Carrollton and Polly Hopkins of Adairsville; one step-son, Don Cox of Buchanan; one sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Al Jones of Buchanan; one brother, Leon Carroll of Buchanan; fifteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 28, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mary Lou Gilbert and Rev. Randy Rooks officiating. Interment will follow in the Buchanan City Cemetery with the Haralson County Veterans Association in charge of the graveside services. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
