Mr. Robert "Bob" Lee Farmer, Sr., age 82, of Buchanan passed away Monday, November 21, 2016. Mr. Farmer was born in Felton, Georgia on September 20, 1934. He was the son of the late Elbert Earl Farmer, Sr. and the late Nannie Sue Lee Farmer. Mr. Farmer was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from the Georgia Department of Agriculture where he worked as a meat inspector. He also served for several years as a member of the Buchanan City Council. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Worthy Farmer; one grandchild, Nikki Farmer; and three sisters, Kate Johnson, Elbert E. Farmer, Jr. and Mary Sue Spearman.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bobby Farmer of Tallapoosa and Billy and Tracie Farmer of Fredericksburg, VA; one sister, Jean Spore of Marietta; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Maggie Farmer of Felton; three grandchildren, Ashley Gore, Michelle Lee East and Michael Paul Farmer; three great grandchildren, Julie Ann East, Vivian Audrey East and Ashton Gore; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Danny Hutcheson officiating. Interment will follow in Buchanan City Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Tony Farmer, Brad Farmer, Chad Farmer, Jimmy White and Derek Mathis.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M.
