Mr. Raymond Malone Eaves, age 94, of Buchanan passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 in a local hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Eaves was born in Haralson County on June 30, 1919. He was the son of the late John C. Eaves and the late Hettie Ford Eaves. Mr. Eaves was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp serving during World War II and was retired from the Arrow Shirt Company. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Summerville and Rubye West; and two brothers, John Eaves and Will Eaves.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Wells Eaves of Buchanan; three daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Ralph Carter of Buchanan, Elaine and Max Smith of Bremen and Kathy and Dwight Hurston of Bremen; seven grandchildren, Scott Carter, Steve Carter, Kim Fausset, Casey Robinson, Kelly Lambert, Stacey Morin and Amy Duke; eleven great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 3, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. from Tallapoosa East Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Ward, Rev. Allen Wilburn, Rev. W.A. Ivie and Mr. Dwight Hurston officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. W.A. Ivie, Bernard Whitton and Londa Bush. Interment will follow in Tallapoosa East Baptist Church Cemetery with the Deacons of Tallapoosa East Baptist Church serving as pallbearers.
The remains will lie in state at the Church from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
