Steve

Randal Steven "Steve" Weir, age 65 of Greenville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.  Born in Neubruecke, Germany on November 16, 1960, he was the son of the late Robert Donald Weir and the late Marlene Butler. In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his step-mother, Maureen Weir, his step-father, Joe Butler, his sister, Beverly Burford, and brothers Mike Weir and David Butler.

A hard working man, Steve was a roofer for many years.  He loved being outdoors in the sunshine and using his hands.  When not working, Steve enjoyed watching sports, especially football, baseball and NASCAR.  Fishing was his way to relax, as well as the joy he found in feeding his  hummingbirds and squirrels.  Family meant the world to Steve and his grands were his pride and joy.  His warm smile will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his soulmate, Martha Buttrill of Greenville; his sons and their spouses, Josh & Cindy Weir of Lewisville, NC, Patrick & Lauren Lattizori Weir of Anniston, AL, and Justin & Jennie Weir of Weaver, AL; his daughters and spouse, Kimberly & John Weir of Manchester and Gina Weir of Heflin, AL; and his bonus children Saoirse Buttrill and Kris Buttrill, both of Greenville.  Also surviving are his precious grandchildren: Alexis, Adam, Aiden, Natalee, Madison, Mason, Maverick, Memphis, Jada, Zoey, Bryson, Grayson, and Arianna; his sisters and brother-in-law, Karen Parra & Alfonso Flores and Kim & Bill Wagner; his brothers Christopher Weir and Tony Weir; and his nieces and nephew, Gabby, Angelo, and Bella.

A Celebration of Life for Steve Weir will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 22nd, at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel.  The family will receive friends from noon until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
