Randal Mark Schaffer, age 73 of Bremen, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at his home.  Born in Poughkeepsie, New York, on July 31, 1952, he was the son of the late Charles Schaffer and the late Joan Marie Bacon.  In addition to his parents, Randy is preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Schwartz, Todd Schwartz, and Charlie Schaffer.

Randy proudly served in the United States Army from August of 1970 until January of 1972, spending time in Germany. He received the National Defense Service Medal  and the Marksman M-16 Badge.  Randy was an expert mechanic and worked for many years building transmissions and supervising others. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and camping.  His favorite TV shows were westerns. Randy's quiet, thoughtful soul will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Cindy Schaffer of Bremen; his daughters and sons-in-law, Angela & Haskell Nelson of Marietta, South Carolina and Amanda & Chris Dale of Crestview, Florida; and his grandchildren, Owen Dale, Austin Dale, Grayson Dale, Colby Dale and Annie Dale.  Also surviving are his two sisters, Terry (David) Brombley and Cindy Bacon; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family.

In keeping with Randy's wishes, he will be cremated.

The family will host a memorial service for Randy on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Corinth Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall..
