Rachel Price, age 75 of Temple, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015. She was born to the late Howard and Estelle Griggs. She attended Buchanan High School where she was Valedictorian of her class of 1957. Her classmates also elected her Most Likely to Succeed. She was a Faithful member of District line Methodist Church for over 60 years. She also served as treasurer of the church. Giving and serving in her church was a delight to her as she sought to serve the Lord.

Family and grandchildren and great grandchildren were Rachel's love and joy. Love to her meant that everyone was full, satisfied and happy. She loved to cook and try new recipes, and her delicious meals were well-known to everyone in the community.

Rachel worked at the Bank of Villa Rica for many years before helping start Lee Fab, with her husband Walter Price. Walter and Rachel were married for 58 years on March 16, 1957. For many years, they enjoyed traveling and they enjoyed several visits to the Holy Land.

Rachel is survived by her husband Walter Price, two daughters Sheree Price, and Lori Garner and her husband Sidney. Grandchildren Alea and Brett Kent, Arielle and Rhett Tolleson, Gabrielle and Eric Harper, Breanna and Skyler Williams and Brett Argo. Great Grandchildren Amaley and Arston Robinson, Hayven and Liam Harper, and Jack Williams, Sydney Hannah and Zealand Kent, and Caroline Tolleson. She also leaves behind many caring family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mom and dad Howard and Estelle Perdue Griggs, and siblings Howard Lee Griggs Jr, Loyd Bernard Griggs, Buford Bernell Griggs, Lois Lee Griggs, James Lewis Griggs and  Raymond Max Griggs.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 24, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. from District Line United Methodist Church with Rev. Tonya, Hardeman, Rev. Terrell McBrayer, Rev. Kenneth Deitle officiating.  Music will be by Harold McWhorter, Teresa Griggs Jones and Sue Causey. Entombment will follow in the Price Family Mausoleum at District Line United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Richard Brannon oficiating. Pallbearers are Skyler Williams, Eric Harper, Brett Argo, Arston Robinson, Scott Roberts Jr, Randall Griggs and Richard Brannon. Honorary Pallbearers are Jack Williams, Liam Harper, and Lee Fab Employees.
