Mrs. Peggie Ann Pender Cox, age 79, of Tallapoosa passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016.  Mrs. Cox was born in Byron, Georgia on June 12, 1936.  She was the daughter of the late Jerry Quinton Pender and the late Lena Mae Bryant Pender.  Mrs. Cox was a homemaker.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Pender.

Mrs. Cox was a faithful wife and mother.  She was an accomplished pianist and vocalist and sang in the Carroll Community Chorus also taught piano and voice.  Mrs. Cox was also very involved in the Garden Club of Tallapoosa where she was a past president.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Cox of Tallapoosa; one daughter, Diane Cox of Tallapoosa; one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Paige Cox of Tallapoosa; one sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Larry Harbin of Cleveland; four grandchildren, April Ammons of Tallapoosa, Meagan  and her husband Josh Holbrooks of Fruithurst, AL, Victoria and her husband Ricky Boone of Tallapoosa and Brandon and his wife Sky Ammons of Tallapoosa; four great grandchildren, Canaan Holdbrooks of Fruithurst, AL, Zachary Archer of Tallapoosa, Johnathan Ammons of Tallapoosa and Cohen Luke Holdbrooks of Fruithurst, AL; a great great grandchild on the way; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. from Tallapoosa First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Bryan and Rev. Sonny Moon officiating.  Music will be rendered by Meagan Holdbrooks accompanied by Lynn Cole on the piano.  Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery in Tallapoosa with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Ricky Boone, Josh Holdbrooks, Brandon Ammons, Jacob Fuller, Roy Williams and Jimmy Rowell.

The family will receive friends at Tallapoosa First United Methodist Church Sunday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M.
