Mr. Paul McElroy, age 73, of Bremen passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Mr. McElroy was born in Haralson County on November 7, 1937. He was the son of the late Ralph McElroy and the late Mildred Maude Barkwell McElroy. Mr. McElroy was as a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired heavy equipment operator. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sonya McElroy; and one sister, Mary Sue Lowman. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Gilmer McElroy of Bremen; six daughters, Tina McElroy of Ohio, Cindy Barnes of Temple, Paula Ann Dugan of Michigan, Diane Marlow of Buchanan, Samantha D. McElroy of Bremen and Ashley N. McElroy of Bremen; one son, David Paul McElroy of Douglasville; one brother, Charlie McElroy of Bremen; thirteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a number other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 1, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Travis Pritchard officiating. Interment will follow in the Piney Woods Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Kenny Gilmer, Johnny Hobbs, Jackie Gilmer, Wesley Gilmer, Tony Carter and Ben Hobbs. Military honors will be provided at the graveside. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
