Mrs. Ovene King Grimm, age 91, of Carrollton passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010. She was born on February 18, 1919 in Humphreys COunty, MS and the daughter of the late Ernest O. and Elizabeth McDonald King. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.M. Grimm; son, David A. Grimm (Capt. USAF) and grandson, Robert A. (Tony) Grimm. Survivors include her son, Robert M. (Bob) Grimm and daughter-in-law, Judye; her granddaughter cindy(Kim) Powers; great-grandchildren Brooke & Andrew Johnson, Kristen & Matthew Huckeba, and Bryn Powers; great-great-grandson, Andrew (Drew) Johnson, all of Carrollton, GA. Also surviving are her brother, David Lee (Bille) King and her sister, Redell Covington of Mississippi, along with a number of nieces and nephews. Upon graduation from Delta State Teachers College in Cleveland, MS., she taought in the Chicago Public Schools for over thirty years until her retirement in 1977. No local services are planned. there will be a private family graveside service and interment at St. Bayou Cemetery in Anguilla, Mississippi. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory in Buchanan, GA has charge of the arrangements.
