Mrs. Opal Leatherwood Vines, age 64, of Buchanan passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017.  Mrs. Vines was born in Cedartown, Georgia, on September 20, 1953.  She was the daughter of the late O.B. Leatherwood and the late Mae Davis Leatherwood.  Mrs. Vines was retired from Atlanta Structural Concrete Company in Buchanan.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Esther Dodd.

Survivors include her husband, John Henry Vines, Jr. of Buchanan; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jason Hudgens of Buchanan; one son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Tracey Vines of Buchanan; special cousin, like a sister, Nell and Donny Anderson; four grandchildren, Laurel Vines, Lanie Vines, Alyssa Hudgens and Addison Hudgens.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Billy Vines and Rev. Jason Hudgens officiating.  Interment will follow in New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Donny Anderson officiating at the graveside. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Cecil Hulsey, Kenneth Williams, Josh Cash, John Dobbs, Wendell Lyle and Junior Davis.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Randall Hudgens and Neal Hogg.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
