Keith Godwin

Olyn Keith Godwin, age 67 of Tallapoosa, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026, after a brief illness.  Born in Tallapoosa, Georgia, on June 28, 1958, he was the son of Imogene Smith Cole and the late O.T. Godwin.  In addition to his parents, Keith is preceded in death by his daughter Christy Godwin, his son, Steven Godwin, maternal grandmother, Annie Smith, paternal grandmother, Lilly Godwin, and his first wife and mother of his children, Sharon Prichard Godwin.

A hard worker who enjoyed driving his truck, Keith spent many years with Kevin Hull Trucking Company.  He also loved good food and watching Fox News.  Never meeting a stranger, Keith had a winning personality and a wonderful sense of humor that drew people to him. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Kim Ball Godwin; his children: Lilly Godwin, Jason Godwin, Jeremy (Trenell) Godwin, Cameron Mabry, and Ashton Ball; his mother, Imogene Cole; his sisters: Susan Godwin Acord, Cindy (Jeff) Blevins, Misty (Earl) Godwin, Mandy (Jason) Godwin; and his brother, Rodney (Dawn) Godwin. Also surviving are his step-mother, Bonnie Godwin, his mother and father-in-law, Cecil & Geraldine Ball; his sister-in-law, Heather Ball; numerous nephews, nieces, and many friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Muscadine Cemetery with the Reverend Ronnie Williams and the Reverend David Morrow officiating.  Serving as active pallbearers will be Phillip Bell, Ernie Person, Lyn Johnson, Casey Smith, Johnny Laminack, and Billy McKinny, and serving as honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Robinson, Mark Bowling and the Kevin Hull Logging team.
