Obituary

Sergeant Nicky Davis, Jr. accepted Christ at a very early age. Knowing this we can be at peace for Nicky entered into God''s Kingdom on Sunday, June 14, 2009. Sergeant Nicky Davis, Jr., son of the late Nicky Davis and Kerri Davis was born February Sixteenth, 1925 in the Dominican Republic in Santa Domino. As he continued on his life he joined the military at the age of 18 years. Sergeant Nicky Davis Jr. served in three wars-World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War. He was honored with several Medals of Accommodation-Purple Heart; Good Conduct Medal; Bronze Chip with 5 Loops; European African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal (Germany); National Defense Service medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Vietnam Service medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; combat Infantryman Medal; Distinguished Unit Citations; Expert M-16 Rifle Medal. Sergeant Davis leaves cherished memories to his loving and devoted wife, Charlotte Davis, his three loving children, Kelly Nycole Symonette (Jebel) of Fairburn, Georiga, Glenn Taylor of Riverdale, Georgia and Seymone Michele Davis of Riverdale, Georgia. Three loving grandchildren, Shammar Symonette, Iysis Symonette and Imani Symonette; Two Sisters-In-Law, Becky Calamise (Dondi), and Debora Young (James). Brother-In-Law, Charles Taylor, Jr. Parents-Inn-Law, Charles and Etta Taylor and a host of friends. Nicheside services will be conducted Friday, June 19, 2009 at 1:30 P.M. at the Columbarium at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with Pastor June Powell officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the United States Army Honor Guard. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
