Mrs. Nelda Jane Posey Caples, age 84, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017.  Mrs. Caples was born in Buchanan, Georgia, on August 8, 1933.  She was the daughter of the late Marshall Edward Posey and the late Hattie Pearl Whisenhunt Posey.  Mrs. Caples was a faithful member of Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class.  She was retired from the Gwinnett County Board of Education where she worked in the payroll department.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Caples; three sisters, Louise Dean, Jannelle Rice and Betty Ezzell; four brothers, Adrian Posey, Gerald Posey, Roger Posey and Foster Posey.

Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Velda and Harold Philpot of Buchanan; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Dr. Aaron Johnson and Danny Hutcheson officiating.  Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens, Snellville, Georgia.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Wallace Shaw, David Rice, Sr., Craig Philpot, Kenneth Ezzell, Rick Denson, Dorsey Rice, Jr. and Jason Rice.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday morning from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.
