Obituary

Neil Brasington, 64, of Buchanan, GA, passed away peacefully at his farm on October 5, 2025.

Neil was born in Powder Springs, GA, on March 1, 1961, to the late Lawrence and Geanetta Brasington, the youngest of three children. He graduated from McEachern High School in 1979. He dedicated his life to Jehovah, and he was baptized on November 29, 1980. His work ethic was unmatched. Many said of Neil that he ran headlights on his truck going to work early in the morning and ran headlights on his tractor at night, still working. He held a variety of jobs even before graduating high school. He worked on the railroad and washed windows on high rise buildings in Atlanta until he became an auto body repairman. He earned a reputation for being an extremely hard worker, few worked as hard as he did. Neil also had a love for farming. In fact, he tried to quit his day job to farm full-time, only to realize that no one can make a living farming.

He married Melynda on January 31, 1987, and they moved to his farm in Roopville. Soon after, they made their home in the Corinth Community. In 1989, they welcomed their first daughter, Emily and then Samantha in 1991.

The girls loved helping their daddy feed cows and bale hay and made the best memories helping him on the farm. In 2014, their family grew to include sons-in-law Josh and Garrett. A few years later, Neil became "Bo" to Lily, Branch, Norah, Rhett, and Arli. He loved taking his grandchildren for tractor rides, checking on the cows, and doing the same things on the farm he loved doing with his girls.

Neil is survived by his wife of 38 years, Melynda; daughters Emily (Joshua) Webster & Samantha (Garrett) Stapleton; Grandchildren Lily, Branch, Norah, Rhett & Arlington; mother-in-law Linda Edwards; siblings Lawrence (Roseanne) Brasington III & Pat (Richard) Millwood; many nieces, nephews and loved ones.

Anyone who knew Neil knew that he loved being a good steward of the land. Whether it was working cattle, baling hay or cutting firewood, Neil always found something to do that kept him busy enjoying Jehovah's creation. Though Neil understood that there would be a select few invited by God to be in heaven (Revelation 14:1,3), because of his love of the earth, he was always drawn to Jehovah's promise to have most of his servants live forever on a paradise earth (Psalm 37:29; Revelation

21:3,4).
