Mrs. Mildred Jane Irwin Westmoreland, age 89, of 295 Carrollton St., Buchanan went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 30, 2009. Mrs. Westmoreland was born June 10, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Homer Irwin and the later Nealie Irwin Irwin. Mrs. Westmoreland was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil M. Westmoreland; one sister, Carmen Elizabeth Irwin; and two brothers, Eugene Irwin and M.C. Irwin. Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Perry of Buchanan; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Benjamin C. and Wanda Westmoreland of Buchanan and Randall Irwin Westmoreland of Buchanan; one sister, Nancy Ilene Thomas of Conyers; one sister-in-law, Faye Howard of Canton; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 2, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bennie Westmoreland and Rev. Larry Connor officiating. Music will be rendered by Wanda Westmoreland. Interment will follow in the Buchanan City Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Craig Perry, Keith Perry, Jay Westmoreland, Caleb Westmoreland, Shane Westmoreland and Joshua Westmoreland. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
