Mrs. Mildred Joyce Osmer Gentry, age 76, of Buchanan passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017.  Mrs. Gentry was born in Buchanan, Georgia, on December 16, 1940.  She was the daughter of the late Rena Osmer and the late Bertha Cheatwood Osmer.  Mrs. Gentry was a homemaker.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, V.L. Gentry; and two sons, Scott Gentry and Ricky Osmer.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Debbie and Dennis Smith of Cedartown, and Kathy Leatherwood of Bremen; two sons, Victor Gentry and Josh Gentry both of Buchanan; one sister and brother-in-law, Faye and James Sheriff of Rockmart; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 29, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Danny Hutcheson and Rev. P.J. Ploof officiating.  Interment will following Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Wayne Sheriff, James Sheriff, C.W. Ploof, Butch Young, William Miller and Barry Sheriff.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Wayne Kirkland, Cody Kirkland, Shane Kirkland, Brantley Norman and P.J. Ploof.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
