Mr. Michael Wayne Rice, age 71, of Shannon, formally of Buchanan, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. He was born on March 20, 1948 in Rome to the late Clifford Amos Rice and the late Doris Virginia Padgett Rice. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by daughter, Victoria Marie Rice and son, Michael Eugene Rice; brother and sister-in-law, Perry and Lori Rice and grandchild Joseph Wayne Ray, Jr..

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy (Joe) Rice Ray of Whitesburg, Melanie (Ronald) Rice Driver of Carrollton and Karen Langford of McLean, TX; one son, James P. Rice of Acworth; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy L. Brown of Flowery Branch, Hope(Mark) Swann of Bremen and Virginia (Allen) Shaw of Bremen; seven grandchildren, Ashley Ray, Lexie Ray, Lauren Driver, Kaley Driver, Landon Driver, Shelby Poole and Denise Langford; one great grandchild, Kiera Poole and several other nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Buchanan City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 30, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
