Michael Grover Prather, age 68 of Waco, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. He was born in Birmingham, AL,  on April 4, 1954, to the late Grover Willie Prather and  Willie Allen Prather. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother Steve Prather.  An avid outdoorsman, Michael loved to hunt, fish, and camp.  He also enjoyed listening to classic rock music, especially the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.  Michael was a hard worker and loved his family.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Hester Prather of Waco;  a daughter, Natasha Hardy and Thomas Wilkerson of Mt. Zion; a son, Cody and Tiffany Prather of Dallas; his mother, Willie Prather; step children, Christina and Bruce Mathis of Waco and Shaun Cintron and Rachel Cato of Ashland, Alabama; sisters, Teresa and  Bob Hooper of Rome, Angie and Billy Cook of Anderson, SC, and Gina and Dennis Wluff of Hiram; and a brother, Norman and Dorothy Prather of Clanton, Alabama.  Also surviving are his grandchildren, Kiley Samson, Dawson Wilkerson, Destiny Wilkerson, Shaylee Prather, Carolynn Mathis, Levi Mathis, DJ Mathis and Corey Mathis; two great grandchildren; special niece, Angel McCain of Silver Creek and other relatives and friends.

In keeping with Michael's wishes he will be cremated.

Cremation services are entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.
