Ms. Melinda "Lynn" Charlene Brown Cook, age 53, of Buchanan passed away Friday, June 27, 2014.  Ms. Cook was born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8, 1961.  She was the daughter of the late Olin Brown and Linda Chesser Wright.  Melinda loved to laugh and dance and loved horses.  Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James and Margaret Chesser.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Daniel Remine of Cartersville; one son, Michael Heaton of Villa Rica; two sisters, Rita Underwood of Carrollton and Carol Farmer of Buchanan; mother, Linda Wright of Buchanan; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Kim Brown of Cedartown; one grandchild, Lucas Remine of Cartersville; one step-grandchild, Lucas Remine; and a number of other relatives.

Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Brother Ricky Shirley officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M.
