Melda Maner

Mrs. Melda Maner, age 69, of Bremen, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

Born in Smyrna on September 13, 1956, Melda was the daughter of the late Edward Maner, Sr. and the late Helen Ware Maner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Dean Clark, Sr., and her brother, Edward Maner, Jr.

Following her graduation from high school, Melda attended real estate school. She devoted much of her life to caring for her home and family, taking great pride in being a loving homemaker. A woman of quiet humility, Melda was a Christian by faith and lived her life with kindness and devotion to those she loved.

In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her plants, reading magazines, and watching her favorite television programs, including COPS and Law & Order. More than anything, Melda treasured her family. She especially loved being “Nana” to her grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy. Her love, warmth, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Hiram Dean Clark, Jr. of Bremen; her daughter, Carrie Ward of Bremen; her sister, Sarah Evans and her spouse, Margaret Jones, of Tunnel Hill; her grandchildren, Kaydence, Alison, Vallory, Sarah, Carrie, and Ashallen; as well as a number of extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

In accordance with Mrs. Maner’s wishes, she will be cremated.

The family will announce plans for a celebration of life service at a later date.
