Mr. Maynard Windom, age 87, of Bremen passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Mr. Windom was born in Carroll County on May 24, 1924. He was the son of the late Olin Windom and the late Chloe Robinson Windom. Mr. Windom was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II on a destroyer and was a retired carpenter. Besides his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Ima Jean Proctor Windom; a daughter, Sandra Cooper; and three brothers, Clarence Windom, Hayes Windom and Hoyt Windom. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Donna and Carl Stothart of Temple and Diane Jones of Heflin, AL; one son, Everett Windom of Bremen; two sisters, Gloria Jones of Carrollton and Frances Spruill of Anniston, AL; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. from Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Shady Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, July 9, 2011 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.
