Scott Stephens, age 52 of Buchanan, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024. Born in Corbin, Kentucky, on August 30, 1972, he was the son of Maynard Stephens and  Evelyn Lay.

An avid outdoorsman, Scott enjoyed fishing and being in nature.  He also enjoyed working with vintage cars, watching football and NASCAR.  Always wanting to be prepared for anything, Scott kept a survival kit complete with flashlights and knives. He also had an extensive gun and ammunition collection.

Survivors include his parents; his sister, Deborah Harris of Corbin, KY; his nieces and nephews, Brittany Browning, Sarah Browning, Calvin Harris and Matthew Browning (Faith); great niece and nephews, Peyton Marlow, Jet Lee, and Miley Browning; as well as extended family, Mitchell Browning and Jimmy Harris and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Scott Stephens will be conducted on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Reverend Rodney Wilburn and Reverend Kenneth Layton officiating with eulogies given by Brittany Browning and Jet Lee. Interment will follow in the Buchanan City Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Mitchell Browning, Mike Benefield, Cody Lee, Wayne Moses, Calvin Harris and Emmett Hart. Honorary pallbearer will be Jet Lee.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the service hour.
