Mr. Max Franklin Payne, age 67, of Buchanan passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015.  Mr. Payne was born in Adairsville, Georgia on January 10, 1948.  He was the son of the late Roy Franklin Payne and the late Martha Hudson Payne.  Mr. Payne was retired from Etheridge Pool Company.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Beverly Weaver; and one sister, Ruth Hulsey.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Butterworth Payne of Buchanan; two daughters and one son-in-law, Cindy Payne of Tallapoosa and Donna and Andrew Robinson of Bremen; one son, Max D. Payne of Buchanan; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sarah and Danny Nichols of Acworth, Faye Dover of Rome and Patricia and Danny Weaver of Dallas; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Ronnie Payne of Dallas and David and Lavinia Payne of Emerson; seven grandchildren, Matthew Butterworth, Casey Whitman, Rylee Sharpton, Kadee Smith, Natalie Robinson, Brady Robinson and Hayden Robinson; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 30, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Sanders officiating.  Interment will follow in Buchanan City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
