Maryzette Self Comer, of Cottage Landing, Carrollton, formerly of Anniston, died May 19. Ms. Comer was the daughter of Flora and Marvin Self and was born on April 10, 1915 in Coldwater, Alabama. Ms. Comer worked as Food Services Supervisor at Stringfellow Hospital in Anniston, Alabama and as Food Service Supervisor and Resident Activities Director at Fairhaven Methodist Retirement Home in Birmingham, Alabama. A talented seamstress, Ms. Comer worked as an alterations seamstress after her retirement from Fairhaven in 1980. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Vivian and Earl Kemp of Dearmanville, Alabama and Jeanette and Fred Bernhardt of Carrollton, Georgia. She is also survived by six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Visitation will be at Cottage Landing Activities Room on Thursday, May 21 from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be on Friday, May 22 at 2:00 P.M. (Central Standard Time) at Dearmanville United Methodist Church in Dearmanville, Alabama. Although she loved flowers, the family requests that donations be mad in her name to your favorite charity or to Dearmanville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 234, Dearmanville, AL 36257 or St. Margaret''s Episcopal Church, 501 Newnan St., Carrollton, GA 30117. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
