Mary Evelyn Wright Worthy, age 89 of Alpharetta, formerly of Buchanan, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023. She was born in Rockmart on September 25, 1933, to the late Eugene Wright and the late Lula Floyd Wright. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Ralph Worthy, and a brother, Ernest Wright.

Evelyn worked for more than 40 years at the  Arrow Shirt Company in Buchanan.  She enjoyed taking care of her family and was a meticulous house keeper.  One of her favorite pastimes was walking her beloved dog Darly.  Evelyn also spent many hours reading her Bible

Survivors include her daughter, Rita Worthy of Carrollton; her son and daughter-in-law, Allan and Gail Worthy of Alpharetta; her brother, J.W. Wright of Rockmart; grandchildren, Peter Carlin and Michael Carlin, and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 2:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Allan Worthy offering the eulogy.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM until the service hour.
