Obituary

Mrs. Mary Florence Lambert Smith, age 84, of Buchanan passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Mrs. Smith was born in Jefferson County, Alabama on August 29, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Homer Lambert and the late Ludie McWhorter Lambert. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest E. Smith; two sisters, Mozelle Smith Shepard and Ailene Stanford; and one brother, C.N. Lambert. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert W. and Kaye Smith of Bremen and James E. and Janice Smith of Cumming; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Burnese and Clyde Harper of Rome and Peggy "Teenie" Moody of Carrollton; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Ralph and Wenona Lambert of Mineral Bluff and Ruth Lambert of Cumming; one five grandchildren, Hannah and her husband Mark Morin, Amber her husband Jody Harbin, April and her husband Rich Lowe, Leesa and her husband Wayne Jiles and Shane and his wife Tracy Carden; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 19, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Herman Parker and Rev. Sanford Tapley officiating. The eulogy will be by Sandra Nix. Mrs. Smith will be honored with Sacred Harp singing at the funeral. Interment will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: David Stanford, Dale Nix, Andy Stanford, Tommy Harper, Tommy McGraw, Jerry Stanford, Steve Butler and Clint Lambert. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be staff of Countryside Health Center. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and Friday from 11:00 A.M. util 1:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
