Mrs. Mary Joyce Meunier Owen, age 71, of Tallapoosa passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011. Mrs. Owen was born in Atlanta on December 24, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Henry Meunier and the late Freddie Harpper Meunier. Mrs. Owen worked in the various textile manufacturing plants in the area over the years and retired as a dietician at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Gloria Argueles. Survivors include her husband, Fred Owen of Tallapoosa; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Kim Owen of Rockmart; three grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Dr. Allen Wilburn officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
