Mrs. Mary "Marisa" Jones King, of Bremen, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021,after a brief illness in a local hospital.  She was born December 6, 1944, in Tallapoosa, GA, to the late Gladys Goolsby Jackson and J.A. Jones.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd King, two sons, Andy King and Roy King; and two brothers, Roy Jones and Herb Jones.

Mrs. King, a 1963 graduate of Tallapoosa High School,  was a homemaker and a great cook. She was always willing to help someone whether it be in the community or in her church family.  Marisa was a longtime active member of the Waco Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.

Mrs. King is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Tammy King of Valdosta, GA, and Joe and Deborah King of Bremen; one sister, Elizabeth Dunkin of Villa Rica; and eleven grandchildren, Jessica King, Ryan (Jenny) King, Jordan King, Jacob King, Clint (Ali) King, Jesse (Marin) King, Kyle (Lauren) King, Hannah King, Jeremiah King, Leon King, and Gavin King.  She is also survived by two great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Marisa King will be conducted on Friday, February 19, 2021, at 2:00 PM from the Waco Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Shadrix and Rev. Chester Pesnell officiating.  She will lie in state from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Waco Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation for Mrs. King will be Thursday, February 18th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions in honor of Mrs. King be sent to Waco Baptist Church, 34 Atlantic Avenue, Waco, GA 30182.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, we ask that all attending the service and/or visitation wear a mask and maintain proper social distance from those not in your family.  We continue to ask that those at risk or those not feeling well stay home and reach out to the family through our obituary page.  All ceremonies are limited to a maximum of 50 guests per state guidelines.
