Mrs. Mary Evelyn Smith Jump, age 75, of Franklin passed away Monday, May 13, 2013. Mrs. Jump was born in Polk County on July 30, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Harold Smith and the late Hazel Smith. Mrs. Jump worked for many years a textile worker at Strickland Cotton Mills in Valdosta, Georgia. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jennifer Richards.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Kenneth Denney of Roopville, Maxine and Keith Thompson of Bremen and Laura and Eddie Stroup of Cedartown; one son and daughter-in-law, Harold Wesley and Hattie Richards of Piedmont, AL; eleven grandchildren, Clifton Thomason, Hailey Moran, Jeremy Tippens, Jacob Denney, Matthew Tippens, Scott Thompson, Beth Perry, Adam Thompson, Russell Stroup, Jeremy Stroup and Brian Stroup; sixteen great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. from Valley View Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Bates officiating.
