Mary Susan Helton Gibbs, age 70 of Buchanan, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024, after a brief illness.  Born in Tallapoosa on July 1, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Hoyt Helton and the late Louise Whitaker Helton.  In addition to her parents, Susan is preceded in death by her sister, Judy Pollard, and her brothers, Hoyt Lewis Helton, Gerald Helton, and Michael Helton.

Susan, a 1973 graduate of Haralson County High School, was always the life of party.  She enjoyed singing and dancing to the music of the 60's and 70's.  An avid Georgia Bulldog fan, Susan also enjoyed watching NASCAR and going fishing.  Her life revolved around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.  Susan will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Amanda Hilton of Bremen and Steven Michael Gibbs of Buchanan; and her precious grandchildren: Courtney Baxter, Jordan Johnson, Olivia Stringer, Isaiah Hilton, Braidon Jackson, Breelynn Jackson, Ian Jackson, and Isabella Jackson.  Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

In keeping with her wishes, Susan will be cremated.  The family will host a private celebration of her life.
