Mary Frances Gay Westmoreland, age 100 of Buchanan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2024.  With her milestone age of 100, we can only imagine what she saw and did in her lifetime.

Mary is predeceased by her loving husband of 80 years, Henry Marvin Westmoreland, her daughter-in-love Ann Westmoreland, granddaughter Cheri Mixon, and grandsons-in-love Tim Mitchell and David Mixon.  She is also predeceased by her sisters, Bera (Edward) Collins, Callie (Charlie) Gilbert, Emma (Frank) Scorsone, Pauline (Elbert) Hewgley; and brothers Clifford Gay, Spence (Margaret) Gay, Larkin (Margie) Gay, Joel (Joanne) Gay, Lane (Margie) Gay and Edmund Gay.

Mary was a loving wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.  She was a wonderful homemaker.  Family time with her loved ones was important to her.  Mary was active in the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star at the Latham Lodge #12 in Austell, Georgia.

Surviving family members include her sons and daughter-in-law, Marvin Glynn Westmoreland and Dale (Judy) Westmoreland; and her grandchildren, Suzanne Mitchell, Lisa (Justin) Surginer, Patrick (Melissa) Westmoreland, Glynn Westmoreland, Jr.,  and Alan (Jessica) Westmoreland.  Also surviving are her great grandchildren: Jackie, David, Mark, Alyssa, Rebecca, Peyton, Kynsley, Elizabeth, Mason, Mary and Easton, along with many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Mary's care sitters Ann Whitten and Regina Rice.  We were blessed with their selfless love and care for her.

Funeral services for Mary Frances Westmoreland will be conducted on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Allen Wilburn officiating. Interment will follow in the Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from Noon until the funeral hour.
