Mr. Marvin Conrad Ballard, age 92, of Griffin passed away Sunday, September 2, 2007. Mr. Ballard was born in Pike County on April, 22, 1915. He was the son of the late William Lowell Ballard and the late Mary Virginia Harris Ballard. Mr. Ballard was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II and was retired from Southern States Equipment Company. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Davis Ballard. Survivors include one step-daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Richard Stanley of Buchanan; one nephew, Billy Jones of Griffin; three step-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 2:00 from the Oak Hill Mausoleum in Griffin with Danny Hutcheson and Sara Stanley officiating. Entombment will follow in the Oak Hill Mausoleum with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Richard Stanley, Tom Stanley, Tim Green and Billy Jones. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
