Master Sergeant Martin Couch, (U.S. Army Retired), age 82, of Whitesburg passed away Wednesday September 21, 2016.  Mr. Couch was born in Hazard, Kentucky on February 28, 1934.  He was the son of the late Boyd and Elizabeth Couch.  Mr. Couch was retired from the United States Army.  He served three tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheryl Smallwood.

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Kay Rogers and Sylvia and John Hendrix all of Whitesburg; son and daughter-in-law, William and Betsy Couch of Dallas; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Private memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
