Martha Ann Crawford Carnes, age 69 of Buchanan, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023. She was born on February 23, 1954 to the late Howard Crawford and the late Magdeline Carnes Crawford. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by six sisters, Louise Wells, Brenda Stroup, Linda Stroup, Dorothy Brannon, Francis Martin and Brenda Joyce Crawford and two brothers, J.D. Crawford and Gene Crawford.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Charles Edwin Carnes of Buchanan; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and Philip Carroll of Bremen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ben and Misha Carnes of Buchanan and Stan and Tammy Carnes of Buchanan; one sister, Glenda Lorrens of Cedartown; one brother, William Crawford of Cedartown; eight grandchildren, Tiffany and Matthew Bell, Jake and Tristen Carnes, Haley and Christian Rester, Zachary Owens, Bradley Owens, Kristen Carnes, Kaylee Elliott and Kylee Elliott; seven great-grandchildren, Raylin Ellis, Ryleigh Bell, Rynlee Bell, Kaisley Carnes, Lettie Carnes, Raylan Rester and Barrett Rester and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from Bethlehem Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Reverend Ricky Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, with the following serving as pallbearers: Stan Carnes, Ben Carnes, Philip Carroll, Jake Carnes, Zach Owens, Brad Owens and Shane Carnes.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
