Marshall Glen Posey, age 43, of Ballard, Washington, passed away unexpectedly September 15, 2011, while visiting in Bangkok, Thailand.

He was born October 20, 1967, in East Point, Georgia , to Linton Posey and Virginia (Drake) Newland. Marshall moved to Seattle in 1980 where he graduated from Ballard High School in 1986. He spent the remainder of his life commercial fishing, primarily in Alaska. Marshall did extensive travelling while not fishing visiting Thailand several times.

Marshall was preceded in death by his father, Linton Posey. He is survived by his mother, Virginia Newland, step father Bill, and numerous cousins and relatives in the Atlanta area.

A memorial and celebration of Marshall''s life will be at Shilshole Bay Beach Club, 6413 Seaview Avenue NW, Seattle at 1 p.m. on October 15. In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to The Seattle Fishermen''s Memorial, PO Box 17356, Post Office Box 17356, Seattle, Washington 98127.

A memorial service will also be conducted Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery in Buchanan, Georgia.
