Mr. Marshall Arp, age 87, of Bremen passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Mr. Arp was born in Cherokee County, Alabama on November 26, 1925. He was the son of the late Jasper Arp and the late Maggie Alexander Arp. Mr. Arp was a member of Piney Woods Baptist Church and was a retired custodian at H.A. Jones Elementary School in Bremen. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Pat Arp Glover; one grandchild, Nicholas Jenkins; two sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Florence Davis Arp of Bremen; one daughter, Ann Arp Garrett; on son and daughter-in-law, Mack and Betty Arp; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Bill Cushing and Sara and Bobby Woody; three brothers, Harvey Arp, Hugh Don Arp and Eugene Arp; thirteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. from Piney Woods Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Shoemaker and Rev. David McKenzie officiating. Music will be rendered by Joe Shoemaker, Eugene Arp and Hannah McKenzie. Interment will follow in Piney Woods Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Randy Arp, Blake Arp, Jacob Goldin, Isaac Goldin, William Miller and Robert Arp.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
