Mrs. Melvin Jean Frey Carroll, age 62, of 5251 Jacksonville Rd., Buchanan passed away Sunday, February 10, 2008. Mrs. Carroll was born in Cobb County on March 26, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Melvin Cecil Frey and the late Margene Gibson Gunter. Mrs. Carroll was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Gunter. Survivors include her husband, Leon Carroll of Buchanan; three daughters and one son-in-law, Angie and Kelly Patten of Temple, Belinda Harper Tallapoosa and Becky Bennett of Tallapoosa; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Amanda Powell of Tallapoosa and Roland and Robin Powell of Tallapoosa; one step-son and his wife, Lee and Tina Carroll of Buchanan; one sister, Donna Reddish of Buchanan; one brother, Mike Gunter of Fruithurst, AL; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from the Graveside at the Carroll Family Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Brother Frank Powell and Danny Hutcheson officiating. Interment will follow in the Carroll Family Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Jonathan Powell, Neal Powell, Lee Carroll, Wilford Powell, John Burress and Cliff Robinson. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
