Mr. Louis Russell Davis, age 86, of Buchanan passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017.  He was the son of the late Louis Chester Davis and the late Nancy Buvena Mosley Davis.  Mr. Davis was a farmer, having owned and operated a dairy farm and a beef cattle operation for many years.  He was also a retired rural mail carrier.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, W.T. Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Cook Davis of Buchanan; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie and Kirk Wheatley of Buchanan; two sisters, Shirley Payne of Alabama and Mary Ness of Minnesota; one grandchild, Brandon Carroll; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Lemmings and Rev. Wendell Rush officiating.  Interment will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Bryan Davis, Frankie White, Danny Thomas, Neal Brasington, Brandon Robinson and David Powell.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
