Lorene Bishop Heath

Lorene Bishop Heath, age 92 formerly of Buchanan, passed away peacefully Monday, September 7, 2026.  Born in Haralson County on February 10, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Hezekiah Bishop and the late Mary Garner Bishop.  In addition to her parents, Lorene is preceded in death by her brothers, George, Thomas, Homer, Walter, Charles, Kenneth, and Horace Bishop and her sister, Betty Bennett.

Living in Haralson County for most of her life, Lorene worked for many years at Sewell Clothing.  She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed vegetable gardening. Working in her flower beds was also a favorite pastime and roses were her favorite flower. Her family was her pride and joy and being called "Nanny" made her eyes sparkle.  Lorene was a long-time member of Buchanan First Baptist Church.  Her beautiful smile and warm personality will be missed by all who loved her.

Her survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa & Steve Hawk of McDonald, Tennessee; her son and daughter-in-law, Bobby & Denora Heath of Buchanan; her grandchildren and spouses, Kimberly & Rick Rowan and Kahyla & Ryan Healey; her great-grandchildren: McKinley Rowan, Maggie Healey, and Daisy Healey; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Mrs. Heath will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 10th, from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel.  Interment will follow in the Buchanan City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home from Noon until 1:00 PM.
